Welcome to the 2nd Gower Guitar festival

| The aim of the festival is to demonstrate how versatile a guitar can be by having many different styles performed. Again to be held at the Gower Heritage Centre Parkmill, Gower. We have another fantastic line up for you this year, with several performers; Johnny Dickinson; Zoe McCulloch; The Nobbs (now Coneheads - return with the full band) all returning for the 2nd year. Joining the festival this year is.............................. .........Adam Khan - a Classical Guitarist - who has successfully mastered the international scene. Adam was born in Neath, South Wales. (informed by A Daniels, that the precise location Adam is from is Seven Sisiters, approx 9 miles from Neath - hope this is more accurate for you Andrew) Adam was described as "One of Britain's most promising young musicians". He has studied with Raymond Burley, who you may remember performed at last years festival. Adam has also spent time studying with Cuban composer Leo Brower and with Argentinian Guitarist Roberto Aussel. Adam will be performing in the Parkmill Chapel at 3.30pm - with a performance of South American Music, a superb choice for Classical Guitar. Clive Carroll - Has been included in "Total Guitar Magazine's 'Top 10 Acoustic Guitarists of all time'" he has been immersed in a diverse range of music, Bluegrass and Irish Music; he has a 1st Class Honours degree in Classical Guitar and Composition and is an accomplished performer in many different styles .... see his web site!!!! Clive will be performing during the evening. ....... Gary and Taff ..... WOW!!!!! What can I say. I was told they were legends but now I've seen the CV, not enough space!!!!! They will have their own page. But until I've done the "page" ..... they've played with Bonnie Tyler, Black Sabbath, Procol Harem, Frank Zapper, ZZ Top, Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd ............WALES PREMIER BLUES ROCK DUO!!!!! who are playing during the day AND if you would like to learn some guitar with Taff come along...... Workshop at 1pm. Also during the day and new this year, we have a Young / New talent section. ... So far performing is Gareth Pearson, only 16 years old he has supported Tommy Emmanuel, John Renbourn, Duck Baker and Johnny Dickinson; State of Emergency return by popular demand; Hippikiss; The Uprising and several other young talented guitarists.. Also joining us this year is Django Chutney - Cafe Jazz and The Insiders who will close the evening. Gary and Taff And of course not forgetting the other local talented Guitarists; Michael Platt; Terry Thomas; members of Swansea Classical Guitar Circle - Chris Williams, Russell Lloyd, Sylvia Barker, Catherine Lewis. There will be a few more by the Festival. There
will be a luthier - you can see how electric guitars are made; a guitar
shop, Spider Music; and if
you don’t play guitar, why not learn some basic guitar techniques.
So come along and join in!!!
