Peter
Kirkbride
Pete first picked up a guitar at the age of twelve when his parents brought
one back from their holidays in Spain. After hearing John Williams playing
Asturias he fell in love with the sound and set about mastering the
instrument. After many years of private lessons and night school he
eventually got a chance to study at the City of Leeds College of Music.
Finishing his studies at the Welsh College of Music and Drama he is now
permanently based in Cardiff as a performer and a full time teacher with
Cardiff and Vale Music Service. His proudest moment was getting the rare
chance to play a Vivaldi concerto with the Rhonnda symphony orchestra. After
having just played a successful concert of South American music in the
Norwegian Church he is currently planning another concert of Spanish music at
the same venue in the near future.
